IIM Amritsar becomes the 6th IIM to launch the IPM Program
The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM Amritsar) has officially introduced its Integrated Program in Management (IPM). With this, IIM Amritsar becomes the sixth IIM to offer the highly coveted 5-year program. Students who have completed their XII standard are eligible to apply.
IIM Amritsar will consider the IPMAT Indore examination scores to admit students to the first batch of the IPM program. The selection process will give 60% weightage to the IPMAT examination score, 35% to the Personal Interview scores, and 5% to gender diversity. The program reserves five seats for international or foreign students, who can apply using their SAT scores. To be considered, applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1300 out of 1600.

Students who are less than 20 years old as of 1st July 2025 and have passed the XII exam with mathematics as a subject, securing 60% marks, can apply for the program.
Admission Criteria for the IPM Program
The IPMAT Indore Examination will be considered for admission to the IPM Program. Past academic records will not carry any weightage, but gender diversity will receive a 5% weightage.

Detailed Admission Process
The admission is expected to be done in two stages with the candidate being shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) process based on the IPMAT Indore score. The final merit list will be based on a composite score with weightages for IPMAT Indore score, the score obtained for the Personal Interview and the gender diversity.
Currently, there are a total of five seats allocated specifically for international students, where SAT scores will play a crucial role in the admissions process. To be considered for these limited seats, applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1300 out of 1600. This threshold ensures that candidates demonstrate a strong academic foundation, aligning with the competitive standards of our institution. Given the limited number of seats, meeting the minimum score does not guarantee admission, as other factors such as academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal statements will also be evaluated.

Curriculum and Structure of the IPM Program
IIM Amritsar’s IPM program offers a dynamic curriculum that mirrors the structure of IPM programs at other IIMs. Students engage in a blend of core, foundation, interdisciplinary, and application-oriented courses, with a strong emphasis on mathematics and computer programming. In the fourth and fifth years, IPM students join the Post Graduate Program (PGP) students, fostering an integrated learning environment.
The program encourages extensive industry interaction at various stages, providing students with practical insights and real-world exposure. By the end of the second year, students must complete a Social Involvement Project (SIP) aimed at raising awareness of societal issues and inspiring innovative solutions.
In their third year, students who choose to continue to the fourth year undertake a summer internship lasting 8–10 weeks with leading corporations. IIM Amritsar attracts top recruiters from prominent companies in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sectors, as well as the Fintech industry, offering students robust career opportunities.
IIM Amritsar is the sixth IIM to offer an IPM program
The Integrated Program in Management (IPM) was first introduced by IIM Indore in 2011, followed by IIM Rohtak in 2019. Since then, IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu, and IIM Bodhgaya have also launched the program. This year, IIM Amritsar joined the ranks, becoming the sixth IIM to offer the IPM. In addition to the IIMs, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT Kakinada) also provides the IPM program, with admissions based on the IPMAT Indore score. Established in 2015, IIM Amritsar is now recognized as one of the top IIMs in the country to offer this program.
