XIMB Interview Experiences

3 panelist(all M) sitting in a hall. Their internet was bad(zoom was showing their signal to be red and just to be sure I also checked calling my friend after interview to see if it was my internet) so I had to ask them to repeat a lot of questions and it was quite irritating. 

 

1) Give intro

Gave, he said did you go to VIT to study or do extracurricular. Explained that my cgpa is above average and I learnt a lot from my extracurricular

 

2) gave to arithmetic sum, 15 questions 10 at least to be answered what is  choice percentage? 

I asked what is choice percentage, can you explain. He said no I gave some answer assuming what it could mean. He said world doesn’t work according to what you assume. I said so could you please explain what choice percentage is? He said if it was an exam would you ask the examiner what it means. Then i just gave up and I was like idk

 

3) integration of mod x

I gave answer orally. Said 

-x^2/2 when x < 0

x^2/2 when x >= 0

He said how did you do it orally. It’s wrong, use pen and paper. I explained him how I did orally. He said no it’s wrong. I was like I think I’m correct if it’s something else idk.

The only explaination I can think of as to why he said it was wrong is that I didn’t add + c at the end. Checked it online as well

 

4) asked about MOSFET

 Told it is a type of transistor that can be used as switch. He asked full form, I said I don’t recall except metal oxide 

 

5) which finance minister won Nobel prize

No one.

Asked if there’s any other country’s finance minister who won Nobel prize

 

6) who was the latest Indian to win Nobel prize

 

I said I don’t recall the first name. Abhijit or Abhishek Banerjee 

 

7) which subjects is nobel prize given in

Physics, chemistry, economics, mathematics. He said what about management, I said I don’t know if they do. 

 

8) P2 said I think you’re not interested in academics and are majorly interested in other things. 

I was so frustrated because of their internet and their style of questioning by then that I just said yes, you’re correct. I’m not interested only in academics, I feel extracurricular help in a lot of ways. I got interested in Robotics because of my extra curricular which helped me land a job off campus. Blah blah and then I said MBA is also not just about academics (said this knowingly. Shouldn’t have but I kinda believe in it and anyway the interview was going bad so I thought at least I can be honest). 

 

 

P2 said yes yes academics is only 10% in mba 90% is rest of the things in a sarcastic manner. 

 

You are a very interesting candidate. Do you have any questions for us? 

No

He asked do you know how many clubs and committees are there in ximb. I said no. 

P3 asked which committees would you join if you get in

Marketing and alumni relations.
