1. Swiggy has signed an agreement with Reliance BP Mobility Ltd. to build an electric vehicle ecosystem and battery-swapping stations for its delivery partners across India.

Swiggy has also partnered with e-cycle maker Hero Lectro and the UK’s Fast Despatch Logistics for delivery using cargo e-cycles. Trials for the same have started in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Hyderabad

Making deliveries through electric vehicles is expected to lower the running cost of vehicles by up to 40%, leading to higher earnings for delivery partners

In June, Zomato said it would join Climate Group’s global electric mobility initiative, EV100, and commit to 100% adoption of electric vehicles by 2030.
