NMAT Cutoff 2025 for NMIMS, KJ Somaiya, TAPMI, XUB, IFMR, Great Lakes and Other B-schools
📅 Last Updated: December 16, 2025, 8:16 AM

The NMAT 2025 will be taken by more than 60,000 aspirants, making it one of India’s largest management entrance exams after CAT. For over 25 years, NMAT has served as the primary gateway to the prestigious MBA programs at NMIMS Mumbai and other NMIMS campuses.

Over the last five years, the exam has been conducted by GMAC and is now known as NMAT by GMAC. Since GMAC took over, NMAT scores have gained wide acceptance across top B-schools such as XUB, TAPMI, KJ Somaiya, IFMR, and more than 50 other institutions in India, along with several schools abroad. NMIMS Mumbai, the most sought-after college accepting NMAT, now features among the top 20 MBA programs in the country, making NMAT increasingly popular.

With so many colleges accepting NMAT scores, it becomes essential for aspirants to understand the cutoff trends for the institutes they plan to apply to. Knowing the expected and previous years’ cutoffs helps students make the right choices and set realistic score targets.

In 2024, NMIMS surprised everyone by reducing its cutoff to 209 and applying a common cutoff across all major programs (MBA, MBA-HR, MBA Business Analytics, MBA Digital Transformation) and campuses (Mumbai, Bengaluru, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Indore). Only the MBA Pharmaceutical Management program retained a separate cutoff of 190. Sectional cutoffs also dropped sharply to 62, much lower than earlier years. NMIMS further updated its entire admission criteria and composite score framework.

This blog breaks down all the updates, trends, and expected NMAT 2025 cutoffs so you know exactly what to aim for.

With the structural changes introduced by NMIMS in 2024 now firmly in place, the NMAT 2025 cutoff will follow the same standardized pattern across all campuses, Mumbai, Indore, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. NMIMS has established a unified cutoff framework, and this consistency will continue for the 2025 admission cycle. The projected NMAT 2025 cutoffs serve as definitive score benchmarks, enabling aspirants to set precise targets and align their preparation with the actual admission standards followed by NMIMS and other top B-schools.

NMAT Cutoff 2024 (Updated)

In 2024, NMIMS introduced a significant overhaul to its admission process, updating both its selection criteria and the composite score framework to create a more holistic evaluation model. As part of this reform, the weightage assigned to the NMAT score in the final selection was reduced, and a single, common NMAT cutoff was implemented for all major NMIMS campuses and programs. The only exception was the Pharmaceutical Management program at NMIMS Mumbai, which continued with its independent cutoff of 209.

NMIMS stated that these changes were designed to align its admission process with evolving industry expectations, emphasizing well-rounded managerial competencies over exam scores alone. To support this shift, NMIMS introduced a new Competency Test as an additional assessment layer in the post-NMAT stage, complementing the existing Personal Interview. This redesigned framework ensures that candidates are evaluated on their analytical ability, communication skills, managerial aptitude, and overall readiness for the demands of modern business roles.

NMAT 2025 Sectional Cutoff

Different colleges set different NMAT cutoffs, and these benchmarks are closely tied to the reputation, demand, and competitive positioning of each institution. Among the top B-schools accepting NMAT, XUB consistently has the highest cutoff, followed by TAPMI and KJ Somaiya. In addition to the overall cutoff, these institutes also enforce strict NMAT 2025 sectional cutoff requirements, ensuring candidates demonstrate balanced performance across all three sections of the exam.

To secure an interview call from a top MBA program, aspirants must clear both the overall cutoff and the sectional cutoffs, as failing even one section results in disqualification regardless of the total score. Below, you will find the cutoff ranges required to receive an interview call from the Top 5 MBA programs that accept NMAT scores, along with the corresponding NMAT 2025 sectional cutoff expectations.

NMAT Cutoff (Expected) for Other Colleges

Beyond the top-tier institutes, many reputable B-schools across India also consider NMAT scores as part of their admission criteria, each setting its own NMAT Cutoff 2025 based on program demand, applicant volume, and institutional reputation. While these cutoffs are generally lower than those of NMIMS, XUB, TAPMI, or KJ Somaiya, they continue to maintain competitive standards and expect a balanced performance across all sections of the exam. The following list highlights the NMAT Cutoff 2025 ranges for other well-recognized schools accepting NMAT scores, enabling aspirants to evaluate their target colleges and plan their application strategy with greater clarity.

NMAT Score Vs Percentile

Many colleges do not publish a fixed score-based cutoff and instead rely on percentile-based shortlisting criteria. A prominent example is SPJIMR’s GMP program, which evaluates applicants primarily through NMAT percentiles rather than absolute scores. Because of this approach, understanding the NMAT score–percentile relationship becomes crucial for aspirants. Percentiles offer a relative measure of performance against the entire test-taking population, and even small changes in score can significantly influence your percentile band. Gaining clarity on how NMAT Cutoff scores translate into percentiles helps candidates set accurate targets, assess their competitiveness for programs like SPJIMR GMP, and plan their preparation strategy more effectively.

NMAT Cutoff for XUB / XIMB
(Updated First on gradsqr.com)

GradSquare is the first platform to publish the updated NMAT 2025 cutoffs for Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) / Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB). These figures reflect the latest admission cycle updates, which have not yet appeared on any major education portal. Before reviewing the cutoffs, it is important to note that XUB accepts NMAT scores for three distinct programs MBA HR, MBA Rural Management, and MBA Sustainability Management. As confirmed in the recent official press release by Xavier University Bhubaneswar, each program has its own cutoff. The revised NMAT cutoffs for these programs are:

XUB / XIMB ProgramQSLSLRNMAT Cutoff
XUB MBA HR65-7075-8073-78227-230
XUB MBA Rural Management505050190-200
XUB MBA Sustainability ManagementNANANA160-180

The XUB/XIMB NMAT cutoffs are higher this year due to several important factors. First, the sub-210 scores reported by many websites are based on the old NMAT format from the pre-COVID period, when the exam was non-adaptive. Since NMAT transitioned to an adaptive format, the NMIMS cutoff, which earlier hovered around 208–211, increased significantly to 232–235 between 2020 and 2023. In 2024, NMIMS reduced its cutoff to 209, not because the exam became easier, but due to a change in admission policy. For 2025, the NMAT pattern and difficulty level remain largely unchanged. Ajay Zener, GradSquare Mentor, who has been writing the NMAT for the past 15 years, confirmed in his video after taking the test on 9 November 2025 that the difficulty level is consistent with last year. In 2024, the XUB cutoffs stood at 230 for HR, 200 for Rural Management, and 150 for Sustainability Management, and based on this year’s exam pattern and applicant trends, the cutoffs are expected to remain in the same range for 2025 as well.

NMIMS Composite Score Breakdown (Updated)

The NMAT Composite Score Breakdown was significantly updated as part of NMIMS’ 2024 admission reforms, shifting the evaluation process toward a more holistic and competency-driven model. Under the revised framework, the NMAT score now carries reduced weightage in the final selection, while greater emphasis is placed on factors such as the Competency Test, Personal Interview performance, academic background, and relevant achievements. This updated composite scoring structure reflects NMIMS’ goal of selecting candidates with well-rounded managerial potential rather than relying solely on test scores. Understanding the updated NMAT composite score components is essential for aspirants, as it highlights the broader skill sets and attributes that influence final selection beyond the NMAT Cutoff 2025 score alone.

NMAT Historical Cutoffs

The NMAT 2024 cutoff for NMIMS marked a major departure from the institute’s previous admission practices. For the first time, NMIMS implemented a uniform, common cutoff across all campuses and core MBA programs. Under this revised structure, any candidate securing an overall score of 209 with sectional scores of 62 or higher automatically qualified for the interview round, regardless of the campus they were targeting. This was a significant shift from the earlier model, where each NMIMS campus had its own distinct cutoff.

An equally impactful change was the sharp reduction in the NMAT exam weightage, which was brought down to 20% in the final composite score. This meant that while clearing the cutoff remained essential, the NMAT score itself no longer dominated the selection process. Instead, performance in post-NMAT components—such as the Competency Test, Personal Interview, academic profile, and achievements—played a far more decisive role.

In this new context, the NMAT 2024 cutoff serves as a critical benchmark for understanding how NMIMS may continue to structure its selection criteria in the future. Listed below are the historical NMIMS Mumbai cutoffs for the four years preceding this major shift, offering valuable insight into the evolution of NMAT cutoff trends.

Our Student Speaks

Happy to share that I had a wonderful time at Gradsquare preparing for the CAT exam and GDPI process. As someone who was entirely new to this entire process, I was fortunate to have had such wonderful mentors at Gradsquare who guided me through each and every step of the way. Mentors at Gradsquare helped me identify my weaknesses and helped me find my own strategy that was best suited for my strengths. What stood out for me was Gradsquare's approach which was different from the conventional approach of other coaching centres of using long hours to conduct classes, which in my opinion really doesn't help much, however they never hesitated to take long hours to clear our doubts which according to me was the key instrument in helping me succeed. Also, the Gradsquare portal is super easy to handle and it really makes your prep easy to assess and follow. I wholeheartedly endorse Gradsquare for anyone who is willing to give your best shot at converting a top B-School.

Best NMAT 2025 & Interview Preparation

10 responses

  1. I wrote my NMAT 2025 on 16 Nov and I got 234 score. My sectional scores are QA-67, LR-80, LS-87. What are my chances for XUB HR. Will I clear QA sectional cutoff? Please reply.

    1. You have a very good chance at XUB MBA HR program based on your overall score as the NMAT Cutoff has never gone above 230 for XUB. However, the QS cutoff has varied between 65-67, and you are kind of in the middle of it. I dont see the cut-off for QS crossing 67 this year, so I think you have a good chance of getting the call.

  2. I have scored 229 in NMAT 2025, what calls can I expect? In NMAT 2024, I got a score of 222 only and I got an interview call from IFMR, I think the cutoff for IFMR in 2024 was 221. I did not receive any interview call for XUB even though most sites were mentioning that the cutoff would be around 220. I hope I get a call this time, I am really hoping to join XUB for HR program.

    1. As I have mentioned the NMAT cutoff of XUB HR has never gone beyond 230. It has hovered around 227 to 230. You have a good chance of getting a call. I hope you have a balanced sectional score too, as XUB also considers sectional score. You are right, last year for IFMR the NMAT cutoff was 221. You did not receive a call from XUB as last year the NMAT cutoff for XUB went at 228 marks.

  3. I had a great experience preparing for NMAT with Gradsquare. The mentors were helpful, the classes were clear, and the overall support kept me consistent. It really boosted my confidence for the exam.

  4. I appeared for NMAT 2025 and scored 231. My sectionals are QA – 71, LR – 78, LS – 82. Could you please guide me on what calls I can expect with this score? Last year I had scored 226 and only received a call from IFMR, but I’m really hoping to convert XUB HR this time. Also, do these sectional scores look safe for the cutoff? Would appreciate a response.

    1. You will definitely get a call from all the colleges this time. I hope you have applied for NMIMS, XUM (HR), TAPMI, KJ Somaiya, Great Lakes (If eligible) and IFMR. All these are possible. Wish you the best.

  5. The NMAT cut-off information provided on this page is well-structured and informative. It helped me set realistic preparation goals and improved my understanding of institute-wise expectations.
