Who’s Eligible to Take the IPMAT Exam?
To apply for the IPMAT, candidates must have either completed their Class XII/HSC or an equivalent qualification in one of the two years preceding the exam year or be appearing for the qualifying examination in the same year as the IPMAT. For example, candidates applying for IPMAT 2026 should have completed their Class XII/HSC in 2024 or 2025 or be scheduled to take the exam in 2026. Additionally, applicants must be 25 years old or younger at the time of the examination. The IIMs calculate the percentage of marks for both Class X and XII based on the aggregate of all subjects listed on the marksheet, regardless of individual board guidelines. Candidates who receive letter grades or grade points must convert them into percentages using a method certified by the relevant board or competent authority.
Students who have completed or are currently pursuing their Class X and/or XII education through international boards such as the IGCSE or International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible to apply.

Most students begin preparing for entrance exams like IPMAT, SET, NPAT, and IPU-CET right after completing their Class 12 CBSE board exams. Where Are the IPMAT Classes Conducted in Tambaram?
We conduct our IPMAT classes in Tambaram at our main center on Siva Shanmugham Road. This center, with a legacy of 15 years, stands as our oldest and most established location in Chennai. Alongside Tambaram, we also hold classes at our Nungambakkam and Potheri centers. How Long Does the IPMAT Coaching Program Last?
Our program runs for one or two years, depending on the student’s academic level. We offer a two-year track for 11th-grade students and a one-year track for those in 12th grade. Classes begin with a strong foundation in core concepts and gradually shift to test-oriented practice. We pause sessions during board exams and resume after results are out, with focused preparation for the Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) once IIMs release their shortlists.

Are IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak the Same Exam?
No, they’re different. IIM Indore conducts the IPMAT Indore exam, which several institutes consider for admission—including IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Amritsar, IIM Sirmaur, IIFT Kakinada, NALSAR Hyderabad, TAPMI Bangalore, and NIRMA University Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, IIM Rohtak runs a separate IPMAT exclusively for its own IPM program.
