Eligibility for PAU Ludhiana MBA Agri-Business Admission 2026

Degree: A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university (agriculture and allied backgrounds are well-suited; check the current prospectus for stream requirements).
Marks: Minimum aggregate as specified in the prospectus, with the usual relaxations for reserved categories.
Entrance test: Admission is through PAU-MET (PAU's own Management Entrance Test). ICAR AIEEA and, in some cycles, CUET-PG scores are also considered — but CAT is not the primary route here.
Domicile note: Most PAU seats favour Punjab-domicile candidates; however, non-Punjab candidates can apply to the MBA programme.
ICAR-qualified candidates may get direct eligibility as per PAU norms.

Fees

The MBA (Agri-Business) total fee is around ₹2.3–3.0 lakh for the two-year programme — among the most affordable agribusiness MBAs in India. Confirm current figures from the official prospectus.

Important: PAU MBA is PAU-MET-based, not CAT

Unlike the IIMs and many private agribusiness programmes, PAU admits its MBA through its own PAU-MET entrance test (with ICAR AIEEA / CUET-PG accepted in some cycles), followed by a personal interview. If your target is PAU specifically, prepare for PAU-MET; a CAT score alone is generally not the admission route here.

PAU Ludhiana MBA Agri-Business admission runs on these stages:

Stage 1 — PAU-MET: Candidates take PAU's Management Entrance Test (or present a valid ICAR AIEEA / accepted score).
Stage 2 — Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates attend a PI round.
Stage 3 — Merit & counselling: Final selection combines entrance performance, past academics and PI, followed by counselling and seat allotment.

PAU's School of Business Studies places MBA Agri-Business graduates across agri-input, agri-finance, cooperatives, food processing, FMCG and rural-banking roles, supported by the university's deep industry links in Punjab's agricultural economy. A note on placement data

PAU is a state agricultural university and does not publish detailed programme-wise MBA CTC reports the way private B-schools do. The NIRF 2025 median salary across PAU's UG and PG placements was around ₹4.8 lakh — a combined figure, not MBA-Agri-Business-specific. The ₹4.8 LPA median is the NIRF figure across all PAU UG and PG programmes, not MBA-Agri-Business alone. PAU's value lies more in its low fee, strong agri-industry network and Green Revolution legacy than in headline CTCs. Verify current placement data with the School of Business Studies.

As someone who was entirely new to this entire process, I was fortunate to have had such wonderful mentors at Gradsquare who guided me through each and every step of the way. Mentors at Gradsquare helped me identify my weaknesses and helped me find my own strategy that was best suited for my strengths. What stood out for me was Gradsquare's approach which was different from the conventional approach of other coaching centres of using long hours to conduct classes, which in my opinion really doesn't help much, however they never hesitated to take long hours to clear our doubts which according to me was the key instrument in helping me succeed.
